An Early Start in Visual Arts
My story began in Moscow, where I was born and spent the first part of my life. My interest in photography, graphic design, and photo retouching began at the age of 16. What started as a creative interest quickly developed into practical experience creating visual content for local businesses, websites, and print advertising
A New Beginning in the United States.
At 18, I moved to the United States and continued developing my skills in photography, design, retouching, and digital media while helping local start-ups create visual content for their businesses.
Working with Local Businesses
I began working professionally with local businesses, providing commercial photography, graphic design, web design, and visual content for a wide range of marketing needs.
A Decade in Commercial Photography & Design
For ten years, I worked on a daily contract basis with a large home-supply company, producing commercial product photography, graphic design, e-commerce imagery, and creative assets for advertising and marketing campaigns.
Throughout this period, I also continued working independently with local businesses, helping them develop professional visual content for their brands.
Exploring Interactive Product Photography
I helped develop and implement a 360° product-view concept for a cabinetry e-commerce store, creating interactive product presentations for more than 300 products.
The project combined photography, e-commerce, and emerging digital presentation techniques—an approach that would continue to influence my work in the years ahead.
CommercialPicture.com
I founded CommercialPicture.com, specializing in commercial and real estate photography throughout the tri-state area. The focus was simple: carefully produced photography and video with an emphasis on quality, consistency, and attention to detail.
Working with National Brands
My commercial work expanded through photography and videography projects for companies including Santander Bank, Regal Cinemas, YourOffice.com, and Sheraton Hotels & Resorts.
During the same period, I began developing Airbnb and short-term rental photography as a dedicated service rather than treating it as traditional real estate photography.
A Different Approach to Airbnb Photography
Demand for my Airbnb photography continued to grow as I developed a more specialized approach to photographing short-term rental properties.
Instead of simply documenting rooms, I focused on composition, atmosphere, design details, amenities, and the overall guest experience—creating a more complete visual representation of each property.
This was also the year I completed training with my first photography student, who later relocated to Florida and continued his career as a professional real estate photographer.
The Beginning of STR Perspective
I founded STR.Photography, which later evolved into STR Perspective, a photography division dedicated specifically to professionally managed short-term rentals and premium Airbnb and VRBO properties.
The service was built around a more deliberate approach to short-term rental photography, combining wide-angle imagery with architectural compositions, close-up details, lifestyle-inspired perspectives, twilight photography, aerial imagery, and carefully refined editing.
As demand grew, STR Perspective experienced approximately threefold growth in client volume.
A Focus on Premium Properties
Today, I continue to photograph Airbnb and VRBO properties while placing a greater focus on premium short-term rentals, professionally designed interiors, and distinctive properties.
My work now includes ongoing relationships with established short-term rental management companies as well as individual property owners, investors, designers, and commercial clients.
After more than two decades behind the camera and working with visual media, the philosophy behind my work remains remarkably simple:
Give every project the time, attention, and craftsmanship it deserves.
